| El capitán Ataide, alojado en casa de Pedro
Crespo, secuestra a la hija de éste y la viola. Cuando Crespo acude en
ayuda de su hija es atado a un árbol desde donde oye, impotente, los
gritos de ésta. Finalmente el capitán es detenido y Pedro Crespo, que
ha sido elegido alcalde, se ve ante el dilema de hacer justicia. Ofrece
al capitán reparar su afrenta casándose con su hija, a lo qué éste
rehúsa. Ante ello, el alcalde decreta sea ejecutado. Al enterarse de
los hechos, el rey Felipe II decide que el alcalde tenía razón y le
confirma en su cargo, ahora con carácter vitalicio. |
