abuso de poder de Fernán Gómez, comendador de la Orden de Calatrava.
El pueblo decide matar al comendador y jura no revelar quienes lo
mataron de hecho y responder que 'Fuenteovejuna lo hizo'. Después de
sufrir represiones e interrogatorios, el rey Fernando perdona a los
habitantes del pueblo y restablece el orden. Otros temas que subyacen
son el amor, representado en la pareja de protagonistas principales y el
de la oposición entre la corte y la aldea. |
