If you need any book that is out-of-print, send us your
list and we will search for it.
Today, L.E.A. is finding most original editions
of out-of-print and even rare books for our customers. We often
print customized catalogues in different areas of research with
extensive listings of out-of-print and rare books.
Pricing for out-of-print books will be according to the following variables:
| UMI Press Reprints -- If the book is among the 150,000 held by UMI as "Books on Demand," and no other copy is found in the out-of-print market, we will order it from UMI. We will gladly quote the price in advance. |
| Book Search -- If we find a copy of the original or reprinted edition, we will offer our customer a price quote (often far below the UMI Books on Demand price). |
| Photocopy
Service -- If we cannot
find it through any of those two procedures, we will
supply a professionally made photocopy, with the
necessary permissions from the publisher, at $0.40 per
page plus $10.00 for soft cover binding. If more than copy of the
same book is ordered at the same time, a 30% discount will be granted on
the second and successive copies. LEA Book Distributors takes full legal responsibility for securing any copyright permissions for the books it supplies in a photocopy format. This format is used only when a book is out-of-print and an original copy cannot be procured in any other way. |
| Art Books & Rare Books -- In the case of rare books and most art books, L.E.A. will charge the price it considers fair for those materials. In these cases we always quote these materials to our customers before the sale. |
| Special Instances -- In the event that none of these procedures would allow us to find a copy, and if we are obliged to use the photocopy services of the Library of Congress or the New York Public Library to provide you with a copy, we will charge $0.60 per page plus $10.00 for soft cover binding. |
